Walking home one evening after a visit with friends in the small town of Oliver, my partner and I were mesmerized by the sky. Here in the city with all the light pollution, we never get to notice it's splendour.
Communion
Communion
bundled up
we trek
wine giddy,
into and through
the crisp, clear
black night
halos of
street lights
street lights
guide our
feet home
feet home
gazing
skyward
we,
transfixed,
twirl round
and round,
skyward
we,
transfixed,
twirl round
and round,
agog
at the golden,
glittering,
at the golden,
glittering,
magnificence
humbled
supplicants
supplicants
at the altar
of time and space,
we ponder,
how can it be
that we are made
of the same stuff
as stars?
It must have been such a special moment! I love "at the altar/of time and space"
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed - completely unexpected.
DeleteMy favorite one yet! I love "wine giddy" and the way thoughts and observations unspool to that final wonder.
