I'm joining Beverly A Baird & Linda Schueler in a "year long poetry practice – on the first Friday of each Month," when we, and anyone else who joins, writes a poem and pairs it up with a photo relating to it.
A few days ago, Trevor Reeves, a gifted local photographer, shared some of his images of foggy sunrise. Morning is my favourite time of day anyway, but it was this picture that inspired my poem today.
I believe
in the sanctity
of morning
of sun ascending
above the horizon
of sun ascending
above the horizon
in a ritual miracle
of dark into light
a solemn ceremony
whereby dawn
unbolts a portal into
an undisturbed day
a day still brimming
with hope and promise
of dark into light
a solemn ceremony
whereby dawn
unbolts a portal into
an undisturbed day
a day still brimming
with hope and promise
I believe in morning
Fabulous! I’m with you there!
